Overview

The Chapel dedicated to Saint Photios and Saint Anikitos is built between the houses of the old community of Saint Photios. From information we received it seems that a long time ago there was another, previous, church that had been demolished as evidenced by the remains of this old church and at the exact same location in 1940 the chapel that exists today was built. It is a small, flat chapel built of stone from the same stone as in the surrounding area and has a tiled roof. The interior is whitened but not frescoed with a marble floor. The wood-carved iconostasis makes its presence felt, as does the only wooden chantry present, along with a few seats. It can comfortably accommodate at least 200 worshippers. It operates twice a year on August the 12th and at Easter.
